It's been six years since coach Jay Wright entered the Villanova program. It was six years ago that program was turned around.
Since Wright has taken over the helm at Villanova, the 'Cats have made a trip to the Sweet 16 two of the past six years, even making a trip to the Elite Eight in 2006.
This season, the Wildcats have made that number three out of six. But making the Elite Eight will be a tough task, as Kansas stands firmly in the way.
The Wildcats will need to rely on the play of guards Scottie Reynolds, Corey Fisher, and the surging Corey Stokes in order to have a chance.

However, Kansas has three players who might be able to stop them in Mario Chalmers, Sherron Collins, and Brandon Rush. It will be a matchup of the guards and small forward, which means three-point shooting will be critical.
If the guard position is a tough matchup for Villanova, the low-post game will be impossible. With no true center on the team, Villanova will have an awfully tough time stopping the frontcourt of Sasha Kaun, Darnell Jackson, and Darrell Arthur.
Basically, what this all means is that if Reynolds, Fisher, and Stokes aren't shooting the ball well, Kansas may just run away with the game.
But don't count the 'Cats out. They don't know how to quit, and you can be sure that Jay Wright, as expected, will have his team prepared for war.
Friday at 9:40 PM, Villanova will look to keep this dream alive, to keep dancing, and to keep the City of Brotherly Love on its toes.
I know I will be.
