Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum, 1500 ESPN Twin Cities reported. He was first placed on the injury list with a shoulder problem on Nov. 9 but played through the pain. Allen said he didn't know when it was torn.

The Vikings' season ended Saturday night in a 24-10 wild-card loss to the Green Bay Packers.
