Had manager Darren Ferguson had his best 11 players available, Championship strugglers Peterborough might conceivably have given a Norwich City side deliberately shorn of several regular starters a game. One of the biggest differences between the Premier League and the Championship being strength in depth, however, the unavailability to Ferguson of Congo international central defender Gaby Zakuani and top scorers Dwight Gayle and Lee Tomlin left him hopelessly hamstrung, and this was a very routine victory for the Canaries.
