The redshirt freshman signal-caller ran for an incredible 229 yards on 17 carries in Texas A&M's dominant 41-13 Cotton Bowl victory over the Sooners. The quarterback also added 287 yards through the air on 22-of-34 passing with two touchdowns and an interception.

The record is just another accomplishment that the young man can add to his mantle. He's also the first freshman ever to win the coveted Heisman Trophy award.

The Sooners were baffled by Manziel's agility and elusiveness all night long. He had 1,181 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground for the season and continued his dominance on the ground against Oklahoma.

The record was formerly held by Middle Tennessee State's Dwight Dasher, who ran for 201 yards in the 2009 New Orleans Bowl. Before that, Texas' Vince Young racked up 200 yards rushing in the 2006 Rose Bowl.

With Manziel having three more years of eligibility for the Aggies, there are sure to be plenty more awe-inspiring performances on the horizon. Regardless of what he does with the rest of his career, his Cotton Bowl performance will be difficult to top.
