The Dallas Mavericks were in position to shock the Miami Heat on Wednesday at AmericanAirlines Arena, but the home team went on a run in overtime to emerge victorious, 119-109.

The Mavericks jumped off to a 30-22 lead after one quarter of play, but the Heat bounced back, taking the lead through three quarters.

But Dallas, determined not to go down without a fight, edged Miami in the fourth quarter after Dirk Nowitzki's 14-footer with three seconds left was true, setting up overtime.

It was all Miami in overtime, though, as the Heat outscored the Mavericks in the frame, 16-6.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Ray Allen scored in double figures for the home team, nullifying a Dallas effort that saw five players score in double figures.

Miami shot 47 percent from the floor (including 10 three-pointers), while Dallas shot 44 percent.
