Update: 5-star DE DeMarcus Walker flipped his commitment from Alabama to Florida State on 1/8/13

Update: Tony Stevens commits to Texas A&M over Florida State on 1/5.

Update: Leon McQuay III snubs Florida State and commits to USC on 1/4/13

Update: 5-star running back Derrick Green is one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2013 class. Michigan, Auburn and Tennessee have been considered to be the three main programs with a legitimate chance of landing Green, but according to his quotes via Adam Friedman of Warchant.com, Green is still talking to Florida State:

"I've been in contact with the Florida State offensive coordinator," Green said. "With the injury problem at running back, they definitely need me. He told me they aren't trying to bring me in and redshirt me, they want me to come down there and play."

Landing Green would be a signature win for Fisher and the Seminoles, and at the very least, they still appear to be in the race for the 5-star running back. Green has a great combination of size and speed and he possesses the potential to be a superstar running back at the college level. He's ranked as the No. 6 overall running back recruit according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

His 247Sports interest list consists of Michigan as the leader, followed by Auburn and Tennessee with "warm interests" and then Florida State and Miami. --End of Update 1/1/13.

Quarterbacks

3 of 9

    Targets: None

    Already Committed:

    John Franklin- 3-star dual-threat QB, 6'2'', 175 lb.

    Analysis:

E.J. Manuel is a redshirt senior, so everybody on the depth chart behind him is about to move up. With that in mind, bringing in a good quarterback through the 2013 class is important for Florida State, and Franklin looks like he can be that player.

He's ranked as the No. 31 dual-threat quarterback in the 2013 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He may not be a star recruit, but FSU can afford to redshirt him and give him time to develop as a quarterback.

    Analysis:

Ryan Green has the potential to be a very good running back at the college level. In fact, he has superstar potential. Green has good size at 5'10'', 195 pounds and he complements that with terrific speed. He'll start off as an important depth player at running back, but in time he has the potential to be a feature back.

Collins is a 5-star running back and has Florida State in his top five according to 247Sports. If the Seminoles can land his commitment, they'd be set at running back.

Getting a commitment from Derrick Green is a possibility, but a distant one.

    Jesus Wilson- 3-star WR, 5'10'', 170 lb. (247Sports)

    26 REC, 524 YD, 7 TD

    Analysis:

Florida State has to be feeling very good about this group of wide receivers. Jones and Whitfield are huge commitments for the Seminoles and they both have incredible potential. Jones has an elite combination of size and speed and he's ranked as the No. 22 overall wideout according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Whitfield is ranked No. 39 (247Sports Composite).

Wide receiver could very well be the strong point of Florida State's class, and this position group will most likely get stronger.

    Laremy Tunsil5-star OT, 6'6'', 295 lb., 5.12 40 (247Sports)

    All-Star Game: U.S. Army 1/5 1pm ET

    Ryan Hoefeld- 3-star C, 6'3'', 265 lb. (247Sports)

    Analysis:

Florida State will be adding some very talented linemen through its 2013 class. Both Denson and Golson are big-time linemen recruits and Hoefeld is a highly ranked center recruit. There are still some top-notch recruits on the board as well, so when all is said and done, this will be a very strong group of linemen.

Defensive Line

7 of 9

    Davin Bellamy- 4-star WDE, 6'5'', 235 lb. (247Sports)

    2012 Stats: 29 TCK, 5 TFL, 5 SCK, 1 INT

    Desmond Hollin- 3-star SDE, 6'4'', 260 lb. (247Sports)

    37 TCK, 17.5 TFL, 8.5 SCK, 1 INT, 1 FF, 1 FR, 1 INTTD

    Analysis:

The Seminoles are looking great on the defensive line as far as their depth chart (Rivals) is concerned, so bringing in Bellamy and Hollin is really just a plus. It's always good to stock up on the line though, so these are two very important recruits for this class.

Williams is a big target for Florida State, but Miami is considered to be the leader for his commitment according to his 247Sports interest list.

Linebackers

8 of 9

    Targets:

    Tyrell Lyons- 3-star OLB, 6'2'', 220 lb. (247Sports)

    2012 Stats: 63 TCK, 5 TFL, 5 SCK, 2 INT

    Ro'Derrick Hoskins- 3-star OLB, 6'3'', 215 lb. (247Sports)

    2012 Stats: 45 TCK, 3 TFL, 3 SCK, 1 INT, 2 FF

    Analysis:

Florida State is set at linebacker, to say the least. Levenberry is a big-time recruit and he has the potential to be a very important player for the Seminoles right away, especially since both Nick Moody and Vince Williams are redshirt seniors.

Levenberry is ranked as the No.5 inside linebacker recruit in the 2013 class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Considering his commitment, plus the much-needed depth added from the three other recruits, this is great for Florida State.

Defensive Backs

9 of 9

    Targets:

    Priest Willis: 5-star CB, 6'2'', 200 lb.

    All-Star Game: Under Armour 1/4 5pm ET

Biggest Competition for Commitment: Oklahoma, Clemson, Georgia

    Already Committed:

    Marquez White- 4-star CB/ATH, 6'1'', 175 lb. (247Sports)

    Michael Johnson- 4-star CB, 5'10'', 170 lb. (247Sports)

    2012 Stats: 28 TCK, 2 INT

    Analysis:

Florida State has to be feeling good about its 2013 secondary class. Marquez White has the size and athleticism to be a shutdown corner in the ACC, and Michael Johnson has the potential to be a very productive player as well.

The Seminole are also in the running for a few more elite recruits, so overall, this class looks like it's going to end up being very solid in the secondary.

Florida State is in the top five for McQuay III and top seven for Willis according to their respective 247Sports interest lists.
