While you were busy poppin' bottles and celebrating a raucous New Year's Eve, some of the biggest sports stars were doing the same.

Here is our chance to take you on a pleasant jaunt around the far corners of the sports world to bring you what some of the best athletes were doing on New Year's Eve.

From rekindling romances to getting in some extra work in the gym, the biggest and brights stars took to Twitter and Instagram to wish the world a prosperous new year.

We do the same and plunge into the waning moment of a great 2012.

This is how a King celebrates the new year, with his fiancee, Savannah Brinson. It seems like he is about to go live it up at a party so wild it mandates the use of camouflage pants.

When he brought in 2012, the King was living it up and popping more than bottles. Last year's festivities included a proposal to his baby boo.

The past year was certainly a memorable one for the two, with McCarthy taking a horrifying line drive to the head back in September.

Thankfully, he has healed and will now take on National League hitters as he changes uniforms and pitches for Arizona.

Things are looking up for Amar'e Stoudemire. He was at one of the best concerts available to ring in the New Year, posting, "The Cold Play and Jay-Z concert. With my lioness @alexisastoudemire at Brooklyn, NY." to his Instagram.

Then comes news that he is ready and healthy enough to play. Per the Sporting News, Stoudemire will finally get back on the court, playing against the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night.
