The Charlotte Bobcats pulled off a surprising upset over the Chicago Bulls thanks to a balanced scoring effort from their deep backcourt. The victory marked the end of an 18-game losing streak for the team.

Playing without Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who sustained an eye injury over the weekend, the Bobcats needed their talented guards to step up and provide production on the wings.

The Charlotte playmakers delivered. Kemba Walker led the team with 18 points and also had eight rebounds and six assists.

Gerald Henderson contributed 16 points while Ramon Sessions and Ben Gordon each went for 15 points in the contest.

For the Bulls, Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng each had productive days, but the rest of the team failed to pull its weight. Boozer had 19 points and 14 rebounds while Luol Deng also recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Richard Hamilton was the only other Chicago player who made it into double digits with 11 points, and the team shot just 35.1 percent from the floor. A lack of offensive production doomed the Bulls to a defeat in this game.

Player of the Game: Kemba Walker, PG, Charlotte Bobcats

Walker’s statistics have improved across the board this season, and he is averaging more points and assists while shooting at a higher percentage.

He is averaging 18.1 points and 6.0 assists this season, which is nearly identical to his state line from this contest. But his eight rebounds is what earns him player-of-the-game honors.

NBA fans know he is a talented scorer, but he also showed that he is willing to chip in and do the little things to help his team win.
