WWE Rumor Mill (March 28)

Celeste WinchesterSenior Analyst IMarch 28, 2009

Hi people and welcome to another episode of the Rumor Mill
Let’s get started shall we?

How they line up in history:

Randy Orton vs. HHH
They’ve wrestled on PPV at One Night Stand 2008, Judgement Day 2008, Backlash 2008 (in a four way), WrestleMania 24 (!), in a three-way, No Mercy 2007, and Unforgiven 2004, as well as multiple times on RAW (three times in a row during the DX/RKO feud in late 2006.

John Cena vs. Edge
They’ve wrestled at Unforgiven 2006, Summerslam 2006, Royal Rumble 2006, had a title change at New Year’s Revolution 2006, and also wrestled multiple times in high-profile matches on television including a big cage match in 2006, a Champion vs. Champion match at the Draft RAW in 2007, and a big match in 2006. More recently they’ve even fought in two singles matches on RAW in the last month!

Big Showhas only wrestled Cena PPV once: WM20, he has wrestled Cena once on Smackdown two weeks ago, wrestled Edge on RAW this past week, and is scheduled to wrestle Cena again on RAW next week.

Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
With exception to their confrontations in multi-man matches at Royal Rumble 2007/08 and at No Way Out 2007, they haven’t wrestled in a major match since 1997.

The Colons vs. Miz and Morrison

Their weekly coverage is really starting to get on my nerves; they are getting way  too much exposure.

JBL and Rey Mysterio have wrestled on RAW last year, as well as at Judgement Day 2006, and No Mercy 2005…

All the ladder match opponents have already wrestled each other to the point of being boring on recent TV coverage, most obviously in big eight-man matches that showcase all of them.

Matt vs. Jeff Hardy hasn’t happened since 2001.
Lets hope they can make it interesting.

Cenahas issued a challenge and pleads for gamers to look him up online and let him beat you at “Red Alert” on the PC. I’m not sure which “Command & Conquer: Red Alert”
You are so on, Cena.

Kane fires a warning that the young need to heed. Younger wrestlers need to be careful with performance-enhancing drugs or substance-abuse issues after they were exposed to Andrew "Test" Martin's recent death.

"I hate to harp on about it, but it's something the young guys need to be aware of," Kane told the Daily Star in the U.K. "WWE has taken a number of steps to be proactive, but all these things are tragic. I knew Andrew for years and years, since he was 24 or 25, so it's personal too when you see that happen."

Behind the scenes

Book releases
ECW Press will be releasing “Chris and Nancy,” a book on the life and death of Chris Benoit and his wife, Nancy. It will likely focus largely on their tragic deaths.

Capstone Publishing is set to release a number of children's autobiographies on current WWE stars later this year.  The Undertaker, Edge, Batista, John Cena, and Randy Orton have all signed on to do the project.

And as Vince looked at the grand empire he had built, he was saddened and wept for he had just realized, there were no empires left to conquer.

JR has updated his blog again. Looks like there will be a time limit on the inductions:

“As I understand it, those of us that are introducing 2009 HOF'ers will handle our business in three minutes or less and the inductees will likely make their acceptance speeches in somewhere under 10 minutes.”

He also makes a brief reference to the fan emails he has received regarding Chris Benoit and Bret Hart.
