The Chicago Bears outlasted the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Week 17, winning by a score of 26-24.
Matthew Stafford then came back with a touchdown pass of his own before halftime, hitting Kris Durham on a 25-yard strike to pull to within 10 points.
Stafford and the Lions scored two more touchdowns in the second half sandwiched in between two Olindo Mare field goals, and the Bears hung on in the end to win by just two points.
Stafford finished the game with 272 passing yards, throwing three touchdowns and one interception.
Calvin Johnson's quest for 2,000 yards fell just short as he finished the day with five catches for 72 yards—36 yards short of his desired mark.
The Lions fell to 4-12 on the season and have some big decisions looming this offseason, while the Bears improved to 10-6 but will still miss the playoffs if the Minnesota Vikings defeat the Green Bay Packers.
