In a meaningless game for both teams as it pertains to the NFL's playoff picture, the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17, winning by a score of 22-17.
Rookie running back Doug Martin put on a fine display of power rushing in this game. He ran for 142 yards and one touchdown on 28 carries, keeping the chains moving and keeping Matt Ryan and his offense off the field.
Josh Freeman didn't exactly shine in this one, passing for 222 yards with one touchdown and one interception, but he did enough to get the win.
Matt Ryan struggled against the Bucs secondary, completing just 28-of-44 passes for 238 yards with just one touchdown.
His struggles may have had something to do with the fact that the Falcons were only able to generate 65 yards on the ground, though Michael Turner did manage to score a touchdown from 17 yards out in the third quarter.
The Falcons didn't lose any placement in the playoffs with the loss, maintaining the No. 1 seed.
The Buccaneers finished the season with a record of 7-9 and will look to get better in 2013 in Greg Schiano's second year as the head coach.
