The Spanish side has had to deal with its fair share of injuries but have coped well enough so far. That still hasn't stopped the rumours about player departures or arrivals, though.
The Blaugrana has gotten off to the best start in La Liga history and it has been business as usual in the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
Here's some of the latest transfer news regarding Barcelona. Be sure to check back throughout the week for updates!

City boss Roberto Mancini is reportedly looking to freshen his squad after the sale of Mario Balotelli.
It's unlikely that Villa would agree with a move to City given the competition he would face for a starting role.
He would get to play in his preferred central position more often but may still face similar obstacles in terms of playing time.
Barcelona has been linked, via Talksport.com, with a move for Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm.
Vorm is one of many other goalkeepers on this list to be linked with the Blaugrana since the news that Victor Valdes will not renew his contract.
Vorm had an excellent season with Swansea in 2011/12 with 14 clean sheets. A number bettered only by Joe Hart and Tim Krul.
The Dutch goalkeeper is both composed and useful with his feet which would make him a solid option for Barcelona's goalkeeping ranks.
Goal.com reports that the London club is in talks with the Barcelona forward.
With the likes of Gervinho off on African Cup of Nations duty and not much depth in the attacking third the London side is in need of attacking reinforcements.
Villa would provide the squad with quality player who, despite being over 30, would arguably be the top attacking option at the club.
As previously revealed by the Daily Mail Barcelona has ruled out selling Villa during the January window.
Cuenca emerged from the Blaugrana youth ranks last season to make 30 appearances for the senior team.
Injuries and the form of players like Cristian Tello and Pedro have left the young winger without an appearance this season.
Arsenal continue to look to boost their attacking options before the transfer window closes.
Cuenca has plenty of potential but a move to the North London club would not give him the playing time he would like nor give the club the outright quality it needs.
This report came after the site revealed comments from the Spanish goalkeeper's father about his son's interest in such a deal.
Reina began his career at Barcelona before moving on and making his name with Villarreal and then Liverpool.
Courtois was linked, via the Daily Mail, to Barcelona before the January window opened.
Barcelona has an up close view of the Belgian youngster as has been on-loan at Atletico Madrid since the beginning of the 2011-12 season.
Courtois is seen as the replacement for Petr Cech at Chelsea and it will certainly be tough for the Spanish side to sign him.
The recent news surrounding Victor Valdes' contract situation—click a few slides into this article for more info—has left the club in shock.
Valdes' revelation came before Barcelona's shock 3-2 loss to Real Sociedad.
While none of the goals were the goalkeepers fault his situation certainly had an effect on his teammates.
Barcelona may be willing to let Valdes go sooner if they can get a replacement and Reina has been sounded out as possible option.
According to AS.com Barcelona is reportedly interested in Colombian stars Juan Camilo Zuniga and Juan Quintero.
Zuniga is an intriguing option for Barcelona with the recent dip form of Dani Alves.
The Napoli star plays out wide in his club's 3-5-2 formation and would certainly be a good fit down the wing for Barcelona.
There are plenty of home-grown talents that would stand in Quintero's way but he is an exciting prospect.
Sky Sports reports that the player is happy in Italy and that Inter could be his club of choice.
Thiago Alcantara moved to quell speculation linking him with a move to Bayern Munich.(via Goal.com)
Former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola will take charge of the German side at the end of the season and it's likely that he will be linked with moves for some of his former players.
Alcantara is a major part of Barcelona's future and with Xavi going on in age he will be expected to play a bigger role as time goes on.
Goal.com reports that Victor Valdes will not extend his current contract with Barcelona.
"Victor Valdes agents have told Barcelona in the meeting held this afternoon of the irrevocable decision from the player not to renew his contract, thus avoiding discussing future wage issues," his representatives told Spanish news agency EFE.
If things remain this way that means that Valdes is set to leave Barcelona at the end of the 2013/14 season.
It's possible he could leave before if Barcelona find a replacement and a suitable offer for the goalkeeper.
The Spanish side is reportedly looking to the Spanish goalkeeper as a replacement for their current shot-stopper Victor Valdes.
De Gea is still yet to shine for Manchester United after being brought to be the long-term successor to Edwin Van Der Sar.
Barcelona knows him well as he made his name in La Liga with Atletico Madrid and he could return to his best form with a move back to Spain.
In our next slide we noted that Victor Valdes was linked with a move to Liverpool.
According to Talksport.com Victor Valdes has moved to downplay speculation regarding his future.
Here's more from Talksport;
But Valdes took to Twitter to cool speculation. He said: "Hi everyone, I want to declare that I haven't said anything regarding my future yet - I will do when the time comes.
"Everything that has been said in this respect are speculations."
Valdes is more than likely to reach a suitable contract agreement with Barcelona in time. He's currently the best option for the club in the goalkeeping department and has been an important part of the team's success.
He's still only 31 and that gives Barcelona time to find a suitable replacement.
As reported by Sky Sports the Barcelona goalkeeper is yet to open talks over a new contract with the club.
This is certainly a interesting rumour and one to watch. Liverpool currently have a goalkeeper in Pepe Reina who is above Valdes where the Spanish National Team is concerned.
Valdes has been an integral part of Barcelona's squad and it's unlikely the player will go without an adequate replacement.
There currently seems to be no options for Barcelona in that regard.
Sky Sports has reported on Tito Vilanova's comments in what is surely the last bit of transfer news involving David Villa.
Here's more from Sky Sports;
He told reporters: "David is not going to leave. We are very happy with him."
Vilanova added: "The other day he scored two goals. We've always said that he's coming off a long injury, and he's getting more minutes all the time. But he's suffering more physical problems again.
"We know how important he is, like last year when we missed him a lot in the second half of the season.
"I'm convinced he will help us a lot over the remainder of the season."
Barcelona have again warned suitors off Spanish forward David Villa.
Sky Sports revealed Blaugrana president Sandro Rosell's view that the club will not Villa leave in January.
Unless Villa himself states that a move is not on the cards it is likely that the rumours will continue.
Goal.com's Ben Hayward believes that despite his situation Villa is likely to stay with Barcelona until the summer.
David Villa has been the one Barcelona player in the transfer rumours a lot in recent times.
Villa certainly presents a good option for Atletico Madrid as a replacement for the highly-rated Radamel Falcao.
Should the Colombian go Villa would most certainly get the central starting role he has not seen since his move to Barcelona.
If he Falcao stays the two could form a very lethal combination for Atletico.
Another plus for the Barcelona forward is the possibility of staying Spain as opposed to a move to London.
This is one rumour to keep an eye on.
This rumour is one for the record books.
While such a deal has happened before, think Luis Figo back in 2000, its unthinkable now.
Considering the recent history between the sides and Busquet's actions in particular when they meet this deal is highly unlikely to happen.
Arsenal are in need of reinforcements in the attacking third and Villa would certainly help in that regard.
The transfer rumour is still a weird one considering the club and player involved however.
Arsenal rarely buy players over 30 regardless of quality and the steep price presented by Goal, £13.8 million, makes it tough to believe.
We'll continue to look out for news about David Villa's future especially in regard to a move with Arsenal.
Alexis Sanchez was okay during his first season with Barcelona but has struggled a little this season.
The Chilean attacker has been in and out of the squad due to injuries and form and has only one goal and four assists in 19 games.(statistics courtesy of ESPN Soccernet)
That has led to the inevitable rumours concerning his future with Barcelona.
It's unlikely that move will occur as Juventus has other targets in mind for the transfer window.
Talksport reports that Tottenham has joined the list of clubs interested in David Villa.
Villa has not featured as prominently for Barcelona in 2012/13 as he has in previous seasons.

Barcelona director of football Andoni Zubizarreta has said in the past, comments here on Goal.com, that Villa would not be let go.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get through where other clubs didn't.
This may not be much of a surprise but despite rumoured interest from a number of clubs is clear that David Villa will stay at Barcelona.
Villa's teammate Andres Iniesta voiced his opinion (via ESPN Soccernet) on the matter and stated his preference that his compatriot stay at the club.
As Goal.com reports, Barcelona director of football Andoni Zubizarreta believes the club will keep Villa during the January window.
The Belgian youngster is on loan from Chelsea for the second year running and has continued to be an important member for the Spanish side.
Both Barcelona and Chelsea will be on the lookout for replacements for their starting goalkeepers and Courtois would be a good bet for either team.
The Daily Mail has since reported that Chelsea would like the player to return next season.
This transfer will be one to keep an eye on especially with the recent history between the two sides.
Here is what Taarabt said in the Mirror article:
I have been told that the president of Anzhi and people from Barcelona have asked about me.
But I have just signed a four-year contract with QPR, and the chairman Tony Fernandes has told me that he will not sell me.
I don’t know what would happen if someone offered £20 million for me. But I love the club and the fans, and they love me too.
The Moroccan star is no stranger to such claims. During the 2011 summer transfer window he claimed a number of big clubs were interested in signing him.
Where he would fit in at Barcelona is one big question to be asked, and it will be interesting to see how this progresses.
