There was no love lost between the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers as they squared off against one another in a regular season finale at Qualcomm Stadium.
Things escalated quickly when Mike Goodson and Takeo Spikes were involved in a second-quarter scuffle that resulted in both players being ejected from the game. For the 36-year-old Spikes, the matchup against Oakland could very well have been the last game of his career, and he was clearly unhappy with the official's decision to send him to the locker room early.
The Chargers would rally behind Spikes' exit, handing Oakland its 12th loss of the season with a 24-21 victory.
Philip Rivers finished the day with 151 yards passing and two TDs in his last appearance of the season. Danario Alexander and Antonio Gates hauled in the two scores for San Diego.
Micheal Spurlock, who returned a punt for a TD in last week's victory over the New York Jets, took the opening kick 99 yards for a TD to start the game.
As for the Raiders, it was a dreary day on offense. Darren McFadden had just 57 yards on the ground for the Silver and Black, and while Terrelle Pryor somewhat dazzled in his first career start, it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Chargers.
Darrius Heyward-Bey and Denarius Moore caught one TD each from Pryor, who also had a rushing TD late in the game.
