During the second quarter of a showdown between the Charlotte Bobcats and New Orleans Hornets Saturday night, Bobcats guard Ben Gordon brought the house down.

Gordon cut out in transition, instantly surveying the floor. With Brian Roberts and Xavier Henry backpedaling, the former UConn Huskie star pulled one of the sweetest moves you'll see this year.

Gordon looked left, lobbed right and found Hakim Warrick for a no-look alley-oop.

The Bobcats' local commentators instantly crowned the play as the "assist of the year." Whether or not you agree is a subjective matter, but one thing is clear: Gordon brought everyone back to 2009 with that one.

For the game, Gordon would finish with 14 points in 18 minutes. Unfortunately, the Bobcats would lose to the Hornets, 98-95.

This marks the 18th consecutive loss for the Bobcats. They had 16- and 23-game losing streaks in the 2011-12 season.

At least Gordon gave them something to remember before the year ends.
