Seattle Safety Not Fined for Hit That Concussed Vernon Davis

Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor was not fined for big hit that sent 49ers tight end Vernon Davis to the sideline with a concussion on Sunday. Chancellor was flagged for unnecessary roughness for the hit, which dislodged the ball from Davis and sent him sprawling out of bounds inside the Seahawks 5-yard line. The 49ers had to settle for a field goal attempt on the drive, which was blocked and returned for a 90-yard touchdown.
Davis has been progressing through the NFL's post-concussion protocol this week. He is practicing in a black, no-contact jersey today. He must get beyond one last hurdle - simulated contact - before he is fully cleared to play Sunday vs. Arizona. That test can be administered at any point until game day.
