The New Orleans Hornets and Orlando Magic met in a standoff that might not have had any impact on the standings, but there was definitely a little intrigue to this game, regardless of how these two teams are faring.
While the Magic are doing quite a bit better than the Hornets at this point, I think it's safe to say that very few people had this one circled on their calendars at the start of the season.
Nevertheless, this one was a pretty good contest most of the way, as the Hornets and Magic seesawed back and forth throughout the rest of the game after this particular sequence.
If you hear of a showdown between Anthony Davis and Mo Harkless, it's pretty safe to assume that Davis would have come out on top, but that wasn't the case on Wednesday night.
Harkless gets past Davis on the fast break, streaks into the lane, snags the pass from Jameer Nelson and drops the thunder all over Robin Lopez.
All Davis can do once Harkless flies by him is watch in vain as Lopez gets absolutely obliterated.
It was a pretty cool flash of what Harkless is capable of, something we haven't really seen a lot of this year. The fact that he beats Davis down the court is impressive in and of itself, as it's something most bigger fellows aren't capable of.
He looks like he could be a very exciting player for the Magic, as long as he's given the proper situation in which to mature.
Harkless' effort wasn't enough, though, and the Hornets went on to beat the Magic, 97-94.
