The Boston Red Sox hot stove season may soon head to a close, but there are still a couple rumors floating around that say otherwise.

From trades to possible free-agent signings, the Red Sox are still ready to make some moves before spring training starts in February.

The Joel Hanrahan trade includes two or more pitchers: Fact

The pitcher in the deal who was definitely mentioned was Stolmy Pimentel, but other pitchers are rumored to be included in the deal.

One big name mentioned was Mark Melancon, according to ESPNBoston.com. Other pitchers have been mentioned, but Melancon has been a key name in the deal, which will likely be finalized after the holiday season since players still need to complete their physicals.

The Mike Napoli deal will be finalized before the end of 2012: Fiction

The Mike Napoli deal will be complete once the Red Sox and his agent come to terms on a deal that is good for both parties.

Since Napoli has hip issues, the Red Sox did not fully finalize the three-year deal, worth about $39 million. The Sox have concerns about his hips. The holdup is likely over wording in the contract, according to Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com.

The deal will still get done at some point because Nick Swisher, a Red Sox target, is now with the Cleveland Indians. But expect it to be official some time after January 1.

The deals for J.D. Drew and John Lackey were able to get done with their own injury issues. Sure, Napoli will be playing first base a majority of the time, but the issue is not so bad that the Red Sox would have given up on him. If they thought it was a really bad injury, then they would have just taken their offer off the table.
