OXFORD, Mississippi (Ticker)—Forward Malcolm White has informed Mississippi coach Andy Kennedy that he has decided to transfer, the school announced Thursday.
The sophomore White opted to leave the Rebels to continue his collegiate career closer to his native Baton Rouge.
“I have decided to leave Ole Miss in order to finish my career closer to my family in Louisiana,” White said. “I have really enjoyed my time at Ole Miss and want to thank the coaches, my teammates and the whole Rebel family for all their support.”
White leaves Mississippi after starting 27 of 31 games this season, averaging 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds. He also led the team with 43 blocks.
“We appreciate Malcolm’s contributions to this program over the past two years, and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors,” Kennedy said.
