Zach Cunningham has always had instincts at linebacker that can't be distilled into a helmet even by the finest coaching. He's always been aggressive and fast, but also actually in need of that "Freshman 15" that befalls most college students.
That hasn't prevented his tackle numbers from ascending ever since his sophomore season. That ticker has soared like Apple stock from 102 tackles to 152 total stops last fall. The 2012 Birmingham News Metro Lineman of the Year had 194 tackles this season.
