How Sweet it is - Boston
The No. 1 Pittsburgh Panthers (30-4) will face the No. 4 Xavier Musketeers (27-7) at 7:27 p.m. and the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils (30-6) will take on the No. 3 Villanova Wildcats (28-7) following the first game.
Pitt struggled in its first two games but managed to get past No. 16 East Tennessee State University by ten and by eight versus Oklahoma State. Xavier knocked off No. 13 Portland State by 18 and stout defense led to an 11-point victory over No. 12 Wisconsin.
Duke cruised to a 24-point win over No. 15 Binghamton and squeaked out a five-point victory over Texas in the second round. Villanova trailed by 14 in the second before rallying to beat the No. 14 American Eagles 80-67. In their second round game, Nova was all over UCLA in their 89-69 win.
Nova should have won both games, considering they played at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Duke just as easily advanced, being they played in Greensboro.
The winners meet on Saturday night for a trip to Ford Field in Detroit.
