NFL Week 17 Picks: Stone-Cold Locks That Will Straight Up Win
The final week of the 2012 NFL season is here, and many of you are a single win away from winning a survivor pool.
If you aren’t sure on which team to lean on and need a guaranteed winner, we have combed through all the scheduled games and identified three locks to straight-up win on Sunday.
Let’s take a look at these powerhouses that will not be defeated in the season finale.
DENVER BRONCOS over Kansas City Chiefs
Peyton Manning and the Broncos are looking to finish the season on a high note and go undefeated against the AFC West.
That’s not such a lofty goal when considering just how dismal Kansas City’s 2012 campaign has been. The Chiefs have been looking forward to the offseason (and a high draft pick) for weeks now, and will just be anxious to get this contest over with.
Expect Denver to lay a major shellacking down on its basement-dwelling divisional rival in order to build momentum for the playoffs and prove that it is the AFC’s team to beat.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ers over Arizona Cardinals
The Niners are one of the toughest teams to face at home, meaning the pitiful Cardinals have little to no chance of upsetting their NFC West opponent.
While many thought Arizona might have the firepower to hang with San Fran earlier in the season, the team collapsed and went on a nine-game losing streak—including a 24-3 drubbing by Jim Harbaugh’s group back in Week 8.
Considering that game was in Glendale, Arizona, it’s only going to be worse for the Birds when they hit the road and travel to Candlestick Park. We fully believe that the 49ers will win this one by at least two touchdowns—and possibly many more.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS over Miami Dolphins
Which team will win?
While New England has a strange history of dropping a game against the ‘Phins in the modern era, it’s not going to happen in 2012.
The Pats are simply too proud and have too much to play for heading into the playoffs as favorites to return to the Super Bowl. They will not take this game lightly, and should easily beat up on a mediocre team that has no quarterback.
If you need a guaranteed winner in Week 17, all of the above teams are great choices, but the Patriots are the best.
