Oregon State football coach Mike Riley announced Saturday afternoon that Vaz, the junior quarterback who started 2012 as a backup, will start when the No. 15 Beavers (9-3) play Texas (8-4) in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio on Dec. 29.
