We're not going to make any bold assumptions, because one week ago it sure looked like Robert Griffin III was set to start against the Cleveland Browns before the Washington Redskins announced the night prior to the game he'd be scratched.

However, Griffin is practicing fully already this week, and all signs point to him returning from a one-game absence in Week 16 against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Rich Campbell of the Washington Times.

Griffin isn't in the clear yet, as Campbell reports that his injured lateral collateral ligament will be assessed by doctors on Thursday. Mike Shanahan has said he won't play unless he's 100 percent.

"Hopefully there's no setback, no swelling with the knee," Shanahan said, via Campbell. "He'll be evaluated through the week, and when the doctors tell me the [ligament] is ready to go, I'll announce when he's ready to go.

"They'll look at it tomorrow, and hopefully they'll tell us it is full go, but I'm not sure when they're going to make that decision."

On to what else is being talked about in the league's most popular division...

Dallas Cowboys

From ESPNDallas.com's Todd Archer: Jason Garrett says he wasn't fazed by Sean Payton rumors.

From Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News: Tony Romo is extremely confident in the team's ability to win close games.

New York Giants

From Paul Schwartz of the New York Post: Lawrence Tynes has missed three field goals in three games, but he says he's not in a slump.

From Jets beat writer Manish Mehta at the New York Daily News: Michael Vick "would be amenable to coming to the Jets" to replace Mark Sanchez in 2013.

Philadelphia Eagles

Nate Allen's been demoted by the Eagles, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Expect him to be fired in the offseason.

From CSN Philly's Geoff Mosher: The Eagles will sign free agent tight end Evan Moore.

Washington Redskins

From Mark Maske of the Washington Post: Griffin was fined $10,000 for wearing Adidas apparel in his postgame news conference Sunday, raising an important question: What if Adidas were willing cover these fines?

From Rich Tandler of Real Redskins: The Redskins are breathing several sighs of relief in the injury department.
