The New York Knicks' Most Important Player Isn't Named Carmelo Anthony
The Knicks trounced a Brooklyn Nets team that was once thought to be on their level. With the exception of Ronnie Brewer, New York looked to be unstoppable with their typical pick-and-roll attack.
With the Knicks more than exceeding expectations, people are looking to credit whatever it is that turned this team around. Carmelo Anthony is gaining MVP consideration in the way all main scorers do on the squads that surprise NBA media types (see: Derrick Rose).
Granted, Anthony is having a fantastic season, reminding observers as much with his 31-point return from injury against the Nets. But there's a reason to why Anthony's playing better beyond that he's simply playing better.
That reason just happens to be New York's most important player.
