It’s a simple question with a complex answer: Will Luis Suarez go down as a Liverpool great?
Suarez has immense talent. Few would argue against that. When the Uruguayan is on, few defenders can contain him.
But if he is to become a Liverpool legend, he has plenty of work to do. Aside from cleaning up his image after certain disciplinary problems, Suarez needs to score loads of goals and start helping Liverpool win trophies.
Strikers like Ian Rush, Kenny Dalglish and Kevin Keegan qualify as Liverpool greats. Those guys all scored bushel loads of goals—Rush, for instance, scored 229 league goals for the Reds—and won several trophies.
Suarez, by comparison, has scored only 25 league goals and won only a league cup with Liverpool. At 25, he’s still young and has the talent necessary to become a legend.
But will he stay with the club long enough? Will he score enough? And will Liverpool win enough?
