Dereck Chisora: Ranking the Most Scandalous Incidents in Heavyweight's Career

0 of 5

British boxer Dereck Chisora is a perfect example of how not to behave in public.

Chisora has been involved in a series of incidents that have been embarrassing to himself, his home country of Zimbabwe, Great Britain and the sport of boxing.

Chisora is paid to fight in the ring, but he regularly likes to get involved in dustups and brawls outside the ring as well.

    He also attacks women.

Chisora has never shown any sign that he will be able to control his behavior and refrain from contemptible conduct.

Chisora Slaps Vitali Klitschko

Derick Chisora looked like he was ready to behave strangely at the weigh-in prior to his Feb. 2012 fight with Vitali Klitschko.

He wrapped a bandana that had the British Union Jack on it around his face, as if he were a burglar who was preparing to rob a bank.

Then he stepped to face Klitschko in a hostile manner. Just as their heads came within inches, Chisora slapped his opponent right in the face.

Completely unacceptable behavior for a professional boxer.

Chisora Spits Water at Wladimir Klitschko

Chisora was not content to insult just one Klitschko brother.

Wladimir Klitschko accompanied his brother into the ring prior to his fight with Chisora.

That's standard procedure in boxing, as the seconds regularly accompany the fighter they are supporting. Chisora went up to Wladimir Klitschko to acknowledge the champion's presence.

However, instead of shaking his hand in a show of sportsmanship, Chisora let loose with a stream of water in Klitschko's face.

The champion would have been within his rights to show his disgust and throw a punch at Chisora, but he did not want to interfere with his brother's fight.

Simply a sickening act by Chisora.

Chisora Brawls with David Haye

It wasn't enough for Chisora to slap Vitali Klitschko and spit in the face of his brother.

Chisora started a brawl with British boxer David Haye at the post-fight press conference.

While it wasn't all Chisora's fault since Haye antagonized him, Chisora got out of his seat while in the middle of taking questions from the media after his fight with Vitali Klitschko and walked toward Haye.

When Chisora got close to him, he started brawling as if he were in a street fight.

Chisora Bites Paul Butlin

Derek Chisora went Mike Tyson in a 2009 bout with heavyweight Paul Butlin.

Early in the first round of their bout in London, the two fighters were head to head and Chisora appeared to bite Butlin on the ear, much the same way Mike Tyson did to Evander Holyfield.

While Chisora did not take a piece of Butlin's ear or even cause him to bleed the way Tyson did Holyfield, the act was revolting.

The fight was allowed to continue, and Chisora ended up winning a decision.

Chisora Assaults Ex-Girlfriend

Chisora was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

According to the British newspaper the Daily Mirror, Chisora pinned down Yalda Kontratchy and slapped her face and smacked her buttocks.

The 2010 incident left bruises on the woman's body. Kontratchy reported the attack to the police.

The judge in the case did not issue jail time, but the newspaper reported he gave Chisora a nasty lecture in the courtroom.

“Your behavior was disgraceful and downright humiliating," the judge said. "You used violence against this young lady. Then to heap ignominy on her, you turned her over and slapped her on the bottom repeatedly.”
