Reports out of Tuscaloosa say Virginia Commonwealth University Rams head basketball coach Anthony Grant arrived this morning and has been meeting with University of Alabama officials.

He had a tour of the campus and, according to the Tuscaloosa News, Grant was shown Coleman Coliseum set up and lit up as if there were a men's basketball game tonight. He is also expected to meet with head football coach Nick Saban today.

The alleged contract offer is worth between $2.1 and $2.4 million per year to coach the Crimson Tide in the 2009-10 season.

His base salary this season at VCU was $700,000 plus incentives to make his salary around $850,000 for the '08-'09 year.

UA officials are expected to give a formal offer to Grant today and are hoping on a decision from the former assistant to Florida head coach Billy Donovan before he boards his plane back to Richmond.

Stay tuned for further details as they cross the wire.
