Pitt defensive coordinator Dave Huxtable has left to become defensive coordinator at NC State, after only one year with the Panthers. Huxtable joined Pitt with coach Paul Chryst, and saw his group play much better in the second half of the season as it transitioned back to a 4-3 defense. Pitt ranked No. 16 in the nation in total defense this season, and Aaron Donald thrived as a defensive tackle, ranking No. 6 in the nation in tackles for loss en route to another All-Big East season.
