GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Penn State Nittany Lions were five seconds away from falling to George Mason in the first round of the NIT. They hit the three at the buzzer and went on to win by four in overtime.

They used the momentum of last week's thriller to defeat the Florida Gators 71-62 to advance to the NIT semi-finals at Madison Square Garden.

Jamelle Cornley recorded a double-double, scoring a game-high 23 points and garnering 12 rebounds.

Three other Nittany Lions scored in double figures in the victory. Stanley Pringle scored 15 points on five 3-pointers, David Jackson scored 14, and Taylor Battle, who drained the game-tying three against Mason, scored 13, respectively.

Penn State will play the winner of Kentucky and Notre Dame next Tuesday night at the Garden.
