Real Madrid are believed to be lining up several major transfers in the coming January window. With the club having had a difficult and frustrating start to their Spanish League campaign, they will look to retool in January for a surge to try and catch both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.

From rising stars and veterans to some currently believed to be the best in the game, the club is truly looking to make a move for multiple types of players and talent levels as they build their squad for the present and future.

Ashley Cole has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for come time now. The announcement earlier in the year that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich would only offer year-to-year contracts to players over the age of 30 looks to see the English left-back ready to head south across the channel.

According to IBTimes, Cole is a primary candidate to join Los Blancos as the next Galactico. Jose Mourinho is expected to make a move for his former charge from Stamford Bridge and could tempt the Blues with a potential deal for Fabio Coentrao in return, according to the Daily Star.

The 16-year-old is expected to be one of the highest-priced young players to be sold in the next transfer period and is thought to be set to demand at least £6 million.

AS Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has recently been linked with a move to Real Madrid, according to the IBTimes. Although he has always appeared destined to finish his career with the Wolves, he continues to become disillusioned with the club.

Real Madrid could use a permanent player to be an enforcer in front of the back line and anchor the midfield. The loan signing of Michael Essien was only a Band-Aid this season, but the signing of De Rossi could make a major impact.

Radamel Falcao

Chasing Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao seems like a no-brainer for the club as he is the hottest attacking transfer target in the game right now. reports that the player could head to Real Madrid if they can beat out potential offers from Chelsea and Manchester City. Falcao would offer a potentially deadly combination between himself and Cristiano Ronaldo.
