This is not a formula for success in Detroit.
Of course, on any given Sunday anyone can beat anyone else, but unless the Lions dig deep and find reserves of strength they haven't shown during the second half of the season, this could be ugly.
Somehow, some way, the Lions needs to find a way to contain the wide-receiver corps of the Falcons. Julio Jones, Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez are nearly unstoppable most weeks, so the Lions' secondary will have to step up its level of play.
Meanwhile, it will be up to Ndamukong Suh, Sammie Hill and the rest of the front seven to get after Matt Ryan and keep him from having the time to get the ball to his receivers.
Mind you, this is a unit that couldn't get to Ryan Lindley for more than one sack against an atrocious Arizona Cardinals offensive line. Whether that was just a bump in the road for the Lions or an indication that they are truly gassed will be a determining factor in this game.
