New York Mets: A No-Brainer to Take the East this Year

So, everybody knows the Mets are going to win the 2008 NL East and maybe even the 2008 World Series.

I'm a diehard Mets fan and when Castillo struck out for the last out of the ’07 season, a tear fell from my eye.

I thought back to 2006 when we lost to the Cards in Game 7 of NLCS, we came so close to something but we just couldn't finish it.

As we all know the Phillies suck and will not repeat. This year, the Mets are stronger than ever and you Phil fans might say "Oh Santana pitches only every five days, that won't make a big difference you can't always count on him."

Yes I know that. Santana is actually taking over the fifth starter’s spot of last year. He is not taking Glavine’s spot away, Pedro is. So we know that Santana is going to increase our record from last year by at least 18 wins.

Last year, we didn't have Pedro and that is another 16-17 wins, maybe 18 if he has a very good year. We also got John Maine, who is good for probably 16 wins, Oliver Perez (probably 15 wins), and that yet to be announced No. 5 will probably get us at least 10-13 wins.

Additionally, every baseball fan knows our lineup is one of the best. Reyes, Castillo, Wright, Beltran, Alou (who is injured, so it'll probably be Endy Chavez, who is another beast), Delgado, Schneider, and Church.

I'm sorry to all you baseball fans, but the Mets of 2008 are coming so you better run.
