The college football bowl season has started out with some excitement—and not in a good way for the Arizona Wildcats.
Down 21-7 after the first quarter to the Nevada Wolf Pack in Saturday's Gildan New Mexico Bowl, two Wildcat teammates broke out into a fight on the Arizona sideline.
Junior nose tackle Tevin Hood appeared to be antagonized during the TV timeout by something that true-freshman linebacker Cody Ippolito said to him on the bench. Whatever it was, it was enough to warrant a punch to the true freshman's face from Hood, which led to a skirmish involving several Wildcat players.
Teammates had to separate Hood and Ippolito from each other on the sideline.
As far as why the altercation occurred, it likely had to do with the Wolf Pack's offensive explosion. Whatever the case may be, it's never good to see violence on the football field in any regard, especially between two players on the same side.
