Video: JaVale McGee Grabs Z-Bo's Shot from Stratosphere

It seems like it was just yesterday that JaVale McGee was spiraling down the floor, out of control, only to throw a lob halfway to the cheap seats.

With a national audience watching, the ever-entertaining big man redeemed himself in style during a 99-94 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. McGee's nine points and six rebounds won't turn any heads, but one of his four blocks certainly did (via Trey Kerby):

JaVale McGee did a good, weird JaVale thing that might be the block of the year.

What he did was also awfully close to goaltending. You can certainly gather how Zach Randolph felt about the matter after watching his reaction.

The faux Bill Walton didn't have anything nice to say, but wouldn't you know, he said it anyway:

Javale McGee just made one of the most phantasmagoric blocks Ive ever seen. He's as athletic as he is dumb (that means he's REALLY athletic)

Others noted that this was JaVale at his best (via James K. Pearson III):

Ok, that has to be Javale Mcgee's best play ever right? #Block #Denver #Memphis

And, we can pretty safely assume what Shaquille O'Neal would have to say (via Chris Hawkins):

JaVale McGee *Shaq voice*

That says it all, really.

Already one the league's most enigmatic talents, the 24-year-old's production has remained pretty constant with the 10.3 points and 5.8 boards he averaged in 20 games with the Denver Nuggets last season.

Those numbers have yet to justify the four-year, $44 million extension he signed this summer. Then again, with blocks like that, who needs stats?
