• Pitt will make its fifth consecutive postseason appearance, and 29th all-time, when it meets Ole Miss in the BBVA Compass Bowl. This will be the first meeting ever between the Panthers and Rebels. Pitt is 12-2-2 vs. current Southeastern Conference teams. • Pitt earned bowl eligibility with two decisive victories to close the regular season. The Panthers routed No. 19 Rutgers, 27-6, and USF, 27-3, to qualify for the postseason. Similarly, Ole Miss closed its regular season on a high note, rolling past Egg Bowl rival Mississippi, ranked No. 24 at the time, 41-24.
