For most of the week, there have been rumblings as to whether or not The Rock will be participating in February's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
Initial reports revealed that the local ads in New Orleans were pumping up his presence at the event. One report even suggested that the arena was falsely advertising "The Great One" to generate ticket sales.
Now, it appears that he will not only be there, but will be involved in one of the chamber matches, making this his first-ever appearance in such a match.
As noted, The Rock is being advertised for WWE's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in February. Word going around WWE is that he will indeed be wrestling on that show, most likely in one of the Chamber matches. This would be The Rock's first-ever Chamber match.
This is huge news for the WWE, as this move should not only increase ticket sales, but also pay-per-view buyrates for the event. Now, I am personally torn as to which pay-per-view to order. On one hand, you have next month's Royal Rumble, with CM Punk vs. The Rock as the main event. On the other, you have February's Elimination Chamber, featuring The Rock's debut in the steel structure.
In a perfect world, I would just drop the 130 bucks and get both. However, I, like most people, have other bills to pay and need to keep a roof over my head, so getting both of them is out of the cards for now.
In the end, it seems the WWE has set themselves up with what should be two very profitable back-to-back pay-per-view's to kick off 2013.
Now it's your turn to weigh in: Do you plan on getting one or both of these pay-per-views? Or do you not care about The Rock's anticipated return?
