The Houston Rockets narrowly avoided a disappointing loss to the Washington Wizards Wednesday night, earning a 99-93 win instead.
Each team enjoyed balanced offensive efforts in this one, but James Harden stole the show. His 31-point performance on 10-of-20 shooting paced Houston's offense and allowed everyone else to fill in behind him.
Harden was supported by Chandler Parson's 18-point, eight-rebound performance, but Omer Asik's 16-rebound night was just as important. Asik doesn't usually get any credit, but he's a hard worker underneath.
Five double-digit scorers for the Wizards, including 20 points from rookie Bradley Beal, tried to earn the team its fourth win on the season, but the Rockets were just a bit better in the end.

Player of the Game: James Harden
Harden did have five turnovers, but he led the Rockets to this win. His 31 points allowed the Rockets offense to be productive against Washington's defense, and he made all nine of his free throws.
Not only is Harden this team's best player, but he's also the leader. He led the team in playing time Wednesday night and constantly shows a good attitude toward whatever needs to get done on the floor.
