The Chiefs game at Oakland on Sunday may be one of the least-inspiring matchups in the 53-year history of what was once one of pro football’s most storied rivalries. Though Kansas City, 2-11, vs. Oakland, 3-11, won’t evoke memories of Len Dawson vs. Ben Davidson or Derrick Thomas vs. Jeff George, Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel promises his team is taking the rivalry seriously. “When you’re on the playground when you’re a kid, and you’ve got a rivalry, or you’re in high school and (you have) a rivalry, it doesn’t make any difference what the records are,” Crennel said. “You want to go and you want to win that game.
