UFC on FOX 5 Salaries: Mauricio Rua and BJ Penn Lead the Pack in Defeat
The UFC was in Seattle, WA on December 8 for the fifth installment of UFC on Fox and fans at the Key Arena saw UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson put on a dominant performance in his second defense of his title, negating the boxing and submission skills of his opponent, Nate Diaz.
Fans in the Emerald City and those viewing at home on Fox also witnessed Alexander Gustafsson take another step toward his goal of a UFC light heavyweight title shot by defeating former champion Mauricio Rua, while welterweight Rory MacDonald ran through former BJ Penn with very little difficulty. And let’s not forget the opening bout from the Fox card, Matt Brown knocking Mike Swick out in the second round.
Yes, the Fox card was memorable, but let’s not forget the preliminary card that saw Daron Cruickshank knocking out Henry Martinez in an effort that many felt should have earned him “Knockout of the Night” honors.
The card was a solid showing for the UFC and Fox. Now that the dust has cleared, we can take a look at the salaries the fighters earned for their efforts.
