The lanky right hander stands 6-feet-5 and weighs in at about a buck ninety. If you follow the WBC at all then you have heard the name. If not, you are missing out.

At the age of 19, Darvish was on the Championship Japanese team in 2006. Now at the age of 22, Darvish and Dice-K brought another championship to Japan.

Yu Darvish led all World Baseball Classic pitchers in K's with 20. He was 2-1 with an ERA of 2.08. The 22-year-old hard thrower throws a four-seam fastball in the mid 90's. He also hurls a slider in the low to mid 80's that is devastating for a right-handed hitter.

The ball starts near the batter and ends up near the corner of the plate. Darvish also throws a above-average curveball in the high 70's to low 80's.

With Japan on the verge of winning their second straight WBC, who else but Darvish was on the mound last night. Japan had a one run lead in the ninth. Darvish had some command issues and Korea managed to tie the game and force extra innings.

While his command was a bit off he held off Korea by striking out the side. He then came back out in the 10th and sealed the victory.

Not only does Darvish have an amazing repertoire of pitches, but he has such a presence on the mound.Watching him pitch was really something to see.

If you missed out I'm sure you will get your chance. Ladies and gentlemen, coming soon to a MLB stadium near you........Yu Darvish!!!
