Carlin Isles is pretty fast.
Found on Reddit, this video shows an athlete who makes running quickly past other fit athletes look rather easy.
Isles, as you can hear at the start of the video, is one of the top 40 100-meter sprinters in the United States and was featured in a Rugby Mag article from this past July.
The column's headline states, "Meet the Fastest Man in American Rugby." Being that rugby is hardly my area of expertise, I have no idea of knowing if this claim is true or clever hyperbole.
After watching this video, I have no argument against him being the fastest rugby player in the nation, or the world. Hell, I will put this guy up against anyone ever after seeing him dominate.
The report gives us a little more detail on the athlete who is crossing over to rugby and managing to amaze fans in doing so.
Isles is a new crossover prospect, coming from the world of professional track. Only 36 people recorded a faster 100-meter time on American soil than Isles in 2012. Without the aid of wind at his back, Isles clocked a 10.24 100-meter dash. With the wind, he ran a 10.13.
One thing to love about this track-star-turned-rugby-sprinter is that he loves contact, something of a prerequisite for his new love.
As you can see at the 1:22 mark, he doesn't shy away from making a hit and can run down pretty much anyone on the field.
The scary part is that he can only get better as he continues to learn a sport he seems fairly comfortable in dominating.
