Big Show will, in all likelihood, end 2012 as world heavyweight champion after defeating Sheamus in a Chairs Match at WWE TLC on Sunday night.

Though Sheamus kicked out of a WMD KO Punch, Big Show pulled out a steel chair from underneath the ring that was at least three or four times the size as a normal steel chair and hit Sheamus across the back with it to seal the victory.

The Big Show and Sheamus feud is one that has really taken on a life of its own. It didn't seem like it was built to last, but when WWE decided to put the world title on Big Show at Hell In A Cell back in October.

When the rivalry first started, it just felt like another placeholder for Sheamus, who had been steamrolling everyone in his path since defeating Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds at WrestleMania, He had, for all intents and purposes, become the new Triple H.

After Big Show won, it seemed like it would just turn into one of those short transitional runs that would bump ratings for SmackDown. Then a funny thing happened along the way, as Big Show kept winning matches and retaining the title.

As WWE prepares to enter the most important part of its year in just a few weeks, it will be interesting to see what happens with the world title. It doesn't seem like Big Show is the kind of star WWE would want to keep the title on heading into the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, but not many people would have predicted he would hold it for three months at the end of 2012.

Sheamus is clearly the No. 1 star on SmackDown at this moment. He gets put in all the biggest feuds, has been in every world title match on pay-per-view since WrestleMania and never looks bad after losing a match.

Both stars are in a great place heading into 2013. Show has the glory of the championship, while Sheamus is always going to be a fixture in the main event picture for the time being.
