Though CM Punk's injury left WWE scrambling for a replacement, fans should still anxiously await this year's Tables, Ladders & Chairs match: The Shield vs. Team Hell No and Ryback.
Despite the absence of CM Punk, this match promises plenty of juicy storylines that should make this among the best TLC matches ever.
First of all, Ryback has some serious beef with The Shield after they powerbombed him in a November 18th Triple Threat match. Ryback would rather get at Punk, but taking out The Shield will be a decent consolation prize.
Ryback will be helped by Team Hell No, the most dynamic duo in wrestling today. The duo is still fresh on the scene, but they are intimidating and powerful. Daniel Bryan's interactions with fans are always entertaining, and Kane might be the most fearsome wrestler on the scene.
How will that compare to some of the legendary matches of the past?
One thing holding this match back is that there is no championship on the line. The lack of high stakes could hold this match back from capturing the public imagination like some of the other TLC matches over the years.
Another issue facing this match is that the TLC format is no longer as original as it once was. Few would deny that the best two TLC matches were the first two, and that seems unlikely to change after this battle.
Still, fans should be excited the see The Shield on a featured bill. They will definitely put on a show to capture the public's attention. Failure to do so could see them cast into obscurity. That means the stakes couldn't be higher for this group of wrestlers.
We also know that Kane has already been involved in some great TLC matches. His 2002 TLC match was truly one of the classics, and the 2010 TLC match was also exciting.
Kane always promises a show, and with Ryback and his tag team partner Daniel Bryan with him, this trio guarantees a show versus The Shield. Expect this match to rank among the best.
