Who Are The WWE's WATCHMEN?

With this month really having been Watchmen month, I re-read the graphic novel, saw the movie, etc. just like all of us. But writing this article was harder than you could imagine.
Trying to compare tons of people to see which one best fits the arch-type of a complex comic book character was far harder than I suspected. Then over time I realized that some characters now really do seem like they fit into their roles.
While I did have fun with this slideshow, I did just feel like I had to do it, I mean someone had too. It actually shows that some of the WWE guys are kinda complex (but not really).
Please leave a comment on how well I matched people up, and if you'd like, recommend other things to compare WWE superstars from! I've always thought about doing Marvel comic book characters or other sports athletes.
The Comedian
Now this is a hard character to fill...
The Comedian is a character who is seen as good and evil. Normally thought of as one of the best of the Minutemen of his time. A top "mask" of the USA aside from Dr. Manhattan, but the first character to die in the novel.
The first person to fill this arch-type in my mind was John Cena, now before you click off this slideshow, hear me out.
John Cena is often regarded as the best face of the WWE, but is hated almost equally. He has great abilities in the ring and it always shows.
Although John Cena doesn't show any signs of dieing in the near future, John Cena has been getting his ass handed to him by Edge and Big Show as of late...
Dr. Manhattan
Dr. Manhattan is a man who had it all, a loving gal, a great job, the works! Then a freak event obliterated him.
After a period of time, Dr. Manhattan rebuilt himself and showed almost god-like powers.
Eventually, Dr. Manhattan became very disconnected to humanity as he felt he had nothing left that related him to society.
I think anyone knows who really fits in this picture, Chris Jericho, Y2J. A few years back, Chris was doing great, but then in a " Your Fired Match" against John Cena, he lost and was fired.
Then after a year or so, he returned to save us in hero like fashion from Randy Orton and JBL... since then he has become more and more distant from people as he calls them liars and hypocrites, and now even fighting with the legends of the WWE.
Ozymandias
Ozymandias is the world's smartest man, and the first Watchmen to have left on his own and become a millionare by selling himself and friends.
He thinks that by destroying sections of the world that it will halt the looming threat of a nuclear war, and so he launches a plan that begins with page 1 of the first watchmen comic.
Now the person that I feel fills this role more than other people doesn't fully fill it, but does larger than anyone else. Randy Orton is one of the top stars in the WWE, and has the most promise for the future as of now.
While Randy isn't trying to save everyone else, he is certainly trying to save himself, he has done horrible acts like punting Vince McMahon and attacking the rest of the McMahon Family.
Rosarch
Rosarch is one of the few remaining "masks" in New York. He's a sociopathic, ruthless detective who will do what ever he needs to find what he's looking for, or what he wants.
The people who were his friends in the watchmen mostly regard him as a loose canon or simply hate him. Some say it's because of how he acts, to him it was all a result of how people acted to him.
I really was happy to slate this character because I think that this is a great character for this guy, Matt Hardy.
As of late, Matt Hardy has become more and more sociopathic towards those who were his friends and family. He betrayed Jeff at the Royal Rumble and has hunted him down to get a match with him at this year's WrestleMania.
While people say that Matt was jealous of Jeff, Matt says that it was all the people's fault, and that's why I think that this is a perfect comparison
Night Owl
The Night Owl is also one of the better Watchmen when he was a watchman. He was basically like the Batman of the Watchmen without his story.
He came into money and got the things he'd need to fight crime with that money. Then the anti-mask law was made and he had to retire. The fact that he had to retire eats away at his insides everyday until he puts the costume back on.
Now finding someone to fill his spot was very hard. But I have a pretty good idea what river to fish in, Tommy Dreamer.
Tommy Dreamer was part of the heart of the original ECW, and once ECW died, it must have eaten his guts because he joined the WWE ECW once it was formed.
In these sircumstances, Tommy is about to leave the WWE (seriously, does anyone expect him to win the ECW title soon? And I'm not hating) and must hate it.
But just taping his hands up again must have just made everything feels right again for Tommy Dreamer
Silk Spectre
Ok, now while I have a picture of "Silk Spectre 2" I really have in mind the first generation SS.
The Silk Spectre was a beautiful woman who dressed provocatively and kicked ass. She put her daughter in to the hero business by just giving birth to her.
While the clock begins to stop ticking for her, she is still regarded as a great hero.
Now it was impossible to find an actual diva for this so I had to find a guy, Shawn Michaels. Now Shawn does wear chaps, he's just not flaunting his ugh "package" for women to see.
He is one of the longest active wrestlers as of now I think, and we all love to have him here, but we know that his time with the WWE is nearing an end within the next few years, but we will always remember him.
Plus no one could be HBK's son or daughter and not be affiliated with the WWE!
