Who's ready for bowl fever? The merriest time of the year only gets better with College Football. And believe me, we have some exciting bowl matchups this season.
From Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel to Heisman runners-up in Manti Te'o and Collin Klein, bowl season will have all your favorite stars ready for action.
Notre Dame vs. Alabama? Two teams fighting for supremacy in college football. How about the high-flying Oregon offense vs. Kansas State? Another great matchup that should attract plenty of viewers.
Without further ado, I rank the five most exciting matchups in the college football bowl season.
A matchup no one saw coming, this one could potentially turn into a must-see. If Florida State thinks it's gonna coast to a Orange Bowl victory, it'll be in for quite a surprise.
Led by standout quarterback Jordan Lynch, this NIU offense can be very explosive. Lynch is the motor that runs this NIU offense, and his ability to be a dual threat (24 passing touchdowns, 19 rushing) could change the landscape of this game.
If Florida State can control Lynch, it should make easy work of this NIU team. However, I think Lynch will step up in a big way. Look for the junior quarterback to light up the scoreboard.
The clash of the Tigers will pit one of the top offenses (Clemson) in college football against one of the most fearsome defenses (LSU). It's the battle of the wills. Who will prevail?
I'm not here to guess the winner, however, this should still go down as a must-see in terms of bowl games.
Clemson, which is averaging nearly 43 points a game, will try to outscore a LSU defense giving up only 15.6 points per game.
We all know about LSU on the defensive side, but how about the offense? If quarterback Zach Mettenberger can step up to the plate, LSU could dominate this matchup, especially considering the Clemson Tigers' mushy secondary.
Also, Mettenberger will be playing in his first bowl game as an LSU starter. How will the JUCO transfer react? Should be a great matchup for fans.
Chip Kelly will lead his high-powered passing attack against another explosive offense in Kansas State QB and Heisman runner-up Collin Klein.
These are two teams who could have easily played in the BCS National Championship Game, but fate chose Notre Dame and Alabama.
Watch out for Kenjon Barner and that explosive Ducks running game which ranks third in the nation. We should see a thriller in Glendale.
Don't be surprised if this game ends up in overtime. Can't wait!
The BCS National Championship Game ranks second on this list? Absolutely.
I love this matchup between Notre Dame and Alabama. Two great defenses will square off, but don't expect another boring BCS match like last season when Alabama and LSU faced off.
This should be a great game and one many traditionalists will love, especially with Notre Dame returning to glory.
Watch out for Alabama's rushing attack, which led it to the BCS game, going up against a stout Notre Dame defense.
Only one team will prevail. Only one team will stand above the rest.
I'm sure you can guess the No. 1-ranked matchup...
Yes folks, "Johnny Football" has mesmerized us all. The Heisman-winning quarterback is playing at a such a high level, you almost forget he's a freshman.
Manziel isn't the only attraction in this football match. Landry Jones will also look to make a statement in the hopes of improving his draft stock at the next level.
Landry Jones vs. "Johnny Football." Who will prevail, the experienced senior or the electrifying freshman? Add to the fact that is game will be played in "Jerryworld." Already salivating just thinking about this matchup.
If you don't like the BCS National Championship Game between Notre Dame and Alabama, this matchup between two of college football's most explosive offenses should satisfy your taste buds.
