Report: Jets Attempted to Trade for WR Braylon Edwards

The New York Jets approached the Seahawks earlier this season about trading for Braylon Edwards, and were serious about the proposition, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports. This according to a league source. The Jets lost Santonio Holmes, their top receiver, for the season in late September, and Edwards was one of the first options they explored, weeks before the trade deadline in Week 8. At the time, the Seahawks still had high hopes for Edwards staying healthy and rounding into form, and the Jets were informed that it would take something significantl in return for Edwards, and not just a late-round pick...
