The UFC took a large risk Saturday night by putting up a free Fox card against a much-hyped pay-per-view boxing match between rivals Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Boasting names such BJ Penn, Mauricio Rua, Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz, the UFC was ready to steal customers from the boxing world who may have been hesitant to shell out $60.

However, did the UFC outdo the Pac Man-Marquez bout?

The undercard of the Fox event was definitely solid. There were great knockouts and good action spread out on the FX and Facebook portion of the card.

Then, the Fox card kicked off with an awesome knockout and all-around performance by Matt Brown. We then saw young guns Rory MacDonald and Alexander Gustafsson dominate legends BJ Penn and Mauricio Rua, respectively.

They were pretty one-sided fights. They had some excitement to them, but would have been better if more competitive.

The main event was a decent fight, but again, was a one-sided decision. Ben Henderson showed why he is champion by drubbing Diaz for five rounds.

That is where we must examine the Pacquiao-Marquez fight.

These two always put on wars when they fight. This fight was no different.

Both men were dropped at different points in the fight. Both men threw haymakers like they were going out of style.

In the end, Marquez would knock Pac-Man clean out. It was a spectacular knockout that will be on highlight reels for years.

So in examining both cards, it is safe to say boxing fans got their moneys worth. People who watched the Fox card also were treated to some solid fights for free all night.

I don't think anyone can confidently say one card outdid the other. So in my estimation, the fans were the biggest winner Saturday.
