Kobe deserves to be the 2008 NBA MVP.

Some will argue that LeBron James is deserving as well. I agree, that "King" James is deserving, but not as much as Kobe Bryant.

The major argument you have for Kobe is his conference.

The Western Conference is leaps and bounds ahead of the Eastern Conference. Sure, the East has the Pistons and, of course, the Celtics, but those would be the only two teams locked for a playoff spot in the West.

The Atlanta Hawks, with a .435 winning percentage, is in the hunt for the playoffs in the East, it is wrong when Denver, with a .600 winning percentage, not even making the playoffs at the moment.

So while LeBron is fighting to keep his playoff runs alive in a very weak Eastern Conference, Kobe Bryant is helping keep his team in the hunt for the first place seed in the West.

Yeah, Kobe has Pau Gasol and (hopefully soon returning) Andrew Bynum. LeBron finally has team of stars, which includes Ben Wallace. You can’t fully say that one has a better team than the other.

Kobe has proved a lot of people and critics wrong this year, similar to Jordan.

People say, "He is a one man team," and this year he averages the same amount of points and more assists.

Another hopeful candidate is New Orleans Hornet Chris Paul. I am sure he will win many MVP awards in his time, but Chris Paul, even though he is young, has not had quite an accomplished season as Kobe or LeBron.

I am pretty new at writing in this form so any comments or criticism would be most helpful.
