I was looking around the web and saw some one say that they felt sorry for Thigpen and it will be nothing but a back-up cause he sucks as a player. So I'm comparing our new QB vs. Thigpen. Cassel's numbers may be a bit larger cause of the offense he was in and the weapons and some may say that Thigpens are bloated cause of the offense that KC was using. but look at the numbers and put everything else to the side.
Thigpen's stats 2008 230 420 2608 54.8 75 18 12 26 76.0
Cassel's stats 2008 327 516 3693 63.4 76 21 11 47 89.4
The stats for them are not too bad for both of the QB but if your wondering about the number 26 and the number 47 those are the sacks of the two QB's.
With our line, I think that the number of sacks that we gave up is pretty low compared to the 47 that the Pats gave up.
If you look at the numbers other than that both QB have numbers that are not to bad considering who they played for and the weapons that they had granted KC did not have the weapons that Cassel did.
The biggest difference between the two QB's are not the numbers but the schools they both attended Cassel came from USC while Thigpen came from Coastal Carolina.
I believe if Thigpen came from a big named school he would be the QB not Cassel. Look around the league and look at the QB's that are out there that came from small school not many of them i can name at least two of them and both of them was in the Super Bowl.
