Lamar Odom's Career Devolves into Saddest Layup in NBA History

Lamar Odom didn't just miss a layup, he threw up a cry for help.

Black Sports Online spotted this magical moment, which should pretty much bookend the career of Lamar Odom rather nicely.

The man came into the league with so much promise, had some tumultuous seasons with the Clippers and really showed what he could do when he won the Sixth Man of the Year with the Lakers.

Then some awful stuff hit the proverbial fan.

He gets dealt to Dallas, sits a good portion of the season, receives hate from Mavericks fans but finally finds his way back to Los Angeles with the Clippers, albeit bigger than we remember him.

Oh, and he recently stated that he was a Lakers player, as we reported back in November

So you could say things haven't necessarily been rosy for the guy who is now good for about 2.3 points per game off the bench for the Clippers.

He really has to savor his point production, making this layup fail all the more difficult to watch.

The Clippers were in the middle of an eventual win over the Mavericks when Odom got in front of a three-on-one opportunity.

He then tosses up what has to be the saddest excuse for a layup of all time and then turns to give a look that only the worst players in a Sunday pickup game give when they screw up for the 15th time that day.

Aww, damn. Sorry guys

I don't even find that layup all that funny, and I can find the humor in everything. In fact, I am going to go ahead and try to forget that layup ever happened.
